Mrs. Annie Summerow Coffey Hamby, 65, furniture store employee, died May 2, 1989, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Funeral was Thursday. 

Survivors are her sons, Ira Coffey, Stanley Coffey; daughter, Mrs. Thelma Laws; sisters, Mrs. Alice Carlton, Mrs. Lillie Painter of Atlanta.

Ira Lee Coffey, age 78, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Caldwell UNC Health Care.  He was born October 27, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late William H. and Annie Mae Summerow Coffey. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Coffey, Steve Coffey and Stanley Coffey; and two sisters, Ethel Horton and Thelma Laws.

Mr. Coffey had been a cement truck driver for Miller Brothers before being employed with and retiring from Caldwell Ready Mix.  He attended schools and churches in the Kings Creek area and later on he worked on the concrete foundation during the construction of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.  He was an avid reader and enrolled in CCC&TI and received his High School Diploma and took various other courses.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Dula Coffey of the home; two nephews, Randy Laws and wife Kim of Hudson and Kenny Laws and wife Janette of Maiden, NC; many more nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; his inlaws, The Dula Family; and many other extended family. 
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Ronnie Watson. 

Family and friends serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Laws, Eric Laws, Noah Laws, Justin Hefner, Robert Spears and Benny Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Laws and Bill Coffey.
