121. William Coffey was born circa 1775 in Burke Co., NC. Date of birth depends on date of Benjamin's marriage. If Benjamin married about 1773-4, then William was born 1774-5, otherwise he was probably born in 1778. William died in Yadkin River Valley, Caldwell Co., NC circa April 1847.278

It is not proven that William was the son of Benjamin.

This might be the William Coffey, Sr. in the 1840 Wilkes Co., NC census, enumerated in Capt. Stewart's Dist., at Head of Yadkin,

There was also a William Coffey who belonged to 2d Regt (McGimpsy's) NC Militia during the war of 1812-1815.

William Coffey and Mary "Polly" Coffey274 were married on 3 July 1796 in Wilkes Co., NC, later Caldwell Co..275,276,277 Mary "Polly" Coffey, daughter of Thomas Coffey and Elizabeth Smith, was born circa 1775 in Albemarle Co., VA. Mary died in Yadkin River Valley in Wilkes Co., later Caldwell Co., NC circa 1828.273

William Coffey and Margaret Robbins425 were married on 15 August 1829 in Wilkes Co., NC.426 Margaret Robbins, daughter of Reuben Robbins and Jane Turner, was born circa 1798 in Wilkes Co., NC, later Caldwell Co..427 She appeared in the census on 19 September 1850 in Caldwell Co., NC.428
