Shelby Jean Coffey Auton

Mrs. Shelby Jean Coffey Auton, age 60, of Israel Chapel Road, Connelly Springs, and a former resident of Boone, died Monday night, October 26, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born in Watauga County October 31, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Roby and Ruth Coffey. Mrs. Auton was a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church and attended Liberty Cross Baptist Church. She was a former cashier with Lowes Food of Boone.

Surviving are her husband Howard Auton and one sister; Hazel Irene Miller of Hickory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister Marget Jeanette Coffey.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shelby Jean Coffey Auton will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Middle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Middle Fork Baptist Church, 268 Bishops Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, NC 28605.
