Staunton-Rudolph Wilson Coffey, 58, of Route 2, died this morning at King's Daughters' Hospital.
Mr. Coffey was born in Augusta County July 2, 1912, a son of the late John E. and Willie Harris Coffey.

He was a member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Mint Spring Ruritan Club.

He was employed by the state.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Campbell Coffey; three sons, Wilson C. Coffey and Hedley Coffey, both of Greenville, and David Coffey at home; three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Garber, Mrs. Maxine Conover, and Mrs. Barbara Shaner, all of Staunton; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Yowell of Greenville, and Mrs. Inez Coffey of Staunton; 11 grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Mint Spring United Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Harry C. Rickard, and the Rev. Willard Goforth, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Calvary United Methodist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Hamrick Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The body will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service.

Rudolph Wilson Coffey and Ruby Virginia Campbell were married. Ruby Virginia Campbell, daughter of Lacy Alexander Campbell and Rose Virginia Barger, was born circa 1912 in Virginia. Ruby died on 23 May 2003 at the age of 91 at home in Staunton, Independent City., VA and was buried at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stuarts Draft, Augusta Co., VA on 25 May 2003.28780,28781

Ruby Virginia (Campbell) Coffey, 91, of 147 Pleasant View Drive, Staunton, and widow of Rudolph Wilson Coffey, died at 8:05 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, at her residence. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wilson and Beverley Coffey, R. Hedley and Jackie Coffey, all of Greenville, and David Coffey of Staunton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and John Garber of Staunton, Maxine and Jack Ford of Chesterfield, and Barbara and Charles Shaner of Staunton; two brothers, Richard Campbell of New Hope and Cecil Campbell of Staunton; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 25, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel, 1030 W. Beverley St., Staunton, Va. Burial will follow in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stuarts Draft. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 this evening in the funeral home.
