Born Oct. 13, 1977, in Waynesboro, he was a son of Michael Wayne and Linda Susan (Fisher) Coffey. As a youth, Greg attended Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved animals and NASCAR racing. He was a 1996 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lewis Fisher; great-grandparents, Woodrow and Marie Watts and Graham and Margaret Fitzgerald; and one aunt, Doris Jean Garrett. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Sara Coffey; brother-in-law, Kevin Kishpaugh; a nephew, Nicholas Kishpaugh; and grandparents, Maxie Coffey, Doris Morris and Edna Fisher. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2007, at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren by Pastors Bill and Bob Johnson. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Showalter, Danny Fitzgerald, Hank Coffey, Nathan Showalter, Dakota Bozga, Craig Handley, Kevin Kishpaugh and Trevor Fitzgerald. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins and extended family members attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren. The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes has been entrusted with arrangements. |
