Mrs. Emma Alice Coffey

Mother of Platte County Sheriff Dies at Platte City.

Mrs. Emma Alice Coffey, 70 years old, mother of Sheriff Holt Coffey of Platte County, died early today at her home at Platte City. She was the widow of Lincoln Coffey, stockman and farmer, who died in 1933. Mrs. Coffey had been ill for some time from a heart ailment.

Mrs. Coffey leaves five other sons, Ward Coffey, Platt City; Glen Coffey, Marshall, Mo.; Mike Coffey, Parkville, and Oliver Coffey and Zell Coffey, both of Platte City; a daughter, Mrs. Dorcas Millsap, Edwardsville, Kas.; two brothers, Thomas Gunter, living in Montana, and Frank Gunter, Stanberry, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Eva Canady, Edwardsville, Kas.; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday at the Christian church at Edwardsville.
