Ernie Everett Coffey, 82, of 2529 Strawbridge Place, Owensboro, died Tuesday, July 11, 1995, at his home. He was born in Wayne County; retired as a welder from Modern Welding Co., where he was employed for 33 years; and was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. A daughter, Retha Carolyn Coffey, died in 1975. 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ethel Foster Coffey; two sons, Howard and Bruce Coffey, both of Owensboro; a foster son, Chad Coffey of Lexington; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Elsie Ward of Shelbyville. 

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ethel Foster Coffey, 94, of Owensboro died peacefully, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at her home. She was born in Daviess County on Feb. 18, 1915, to the late Stewart and Ree Ora Adams Foster. Mrs. Foster retired from General Electric and enjoyed gardening, traveling, genealogy, quilting and spending time with her family. She was a charter member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle of Owensboro, where she taught Sunday school and was the church treasurer for many years. Mrs. Coffey was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ernie E. Coffey; a daughter, Retha Carolyn Coffey; a son, Foster Howard Coffey; a great-grandson, Ash Valic Coffey; sisters Nora Brown and Myrdith Hamilton; and brothers Ed Foster and Ray Foster. 

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Nina Coffey of Owensboro; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Maddox Coffey of Owensboro; grandchildren, Tina (Glenn) Helwig, Gina (Kyle) Dailey, Chris Coffey, Tani Coffey and Chad Coffey; six great-grandchildren; sisters Nina Clark Powers and Vera Church, both of Owensboro; sisters-in-law Stella Coffey of Owensboro and Elsie Coffey Ward of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services are at noon Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Pogue officiating, followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
