Garner Coffey and Monnie New were married. They appeared in the census on 4 April 1940 in Yamacraw, McCreary Co., KY.41841 Monnie New was born on 31 January 1913 in Kentucky. Monnie died in Sidney, Shelby Co., OH on 22 August 2006 and was buried at Sammy New Cemetery in Stearns, McCreary Co., KY in August 2006 .41842

Whitley City — Delmer W. Coffey, age 76 years, Stearns, Kentucky died July 2, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset Kentucky. Funeral services were held Monday, July 5, 2010 at McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial was at Sammy New Cemetery.

He was born at Wolf Creek, Kentucky on March 14, 1934 the son of the late Garner and Monnie New Coffey. He was a Custodian for McCreary County Schools and member of Wolf Ridge United Baptist Church.

His parents, and the following sisters Imolene Hill; Sue Evelyn Watters; and Connie Cooke, precedes him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Judy Keith and husband Jeff; Lannie Branscum and husband James; Stearns, Kentucky; Sylvia Love, Smith Grove, Kentucky; Donna Cox, Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. A brother Curtis Coffey, Anderson, Indiana and a sister Hilda Jones, Sidney, Ohio also survives.
