JAMESTOWN - COFFEY, CHARLES COLEMAN "BIG C," 81, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006. Mr. Coffey was proud to have hailed from Horseshoe Bottom, KY, which lies under the waters of what is now Lake Cumberland. He was a millwright by profession, and a foreman during the construction of the Wolf Creek Dam. He was eternally a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, for which he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a successful businessman in Louisville, before returning to his home in Russell County, KY, where he was a loyal parishioner of the Jamestown Christian Church. His family simply referred to him as "PA." He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly sixty years, Mrs. Francis Louise Dabney Coffey; their two sons, Charles Edward Coffey (Carol Sue) and Jimmy Coleman Coffey (Brenda); three grandsons, Chad Edward Coffey (Brooke Lee), Charles Kyle Coffey, and Coleman Patrick Coffey; two granddaughters, Courtney Ann Worley (Stephen) and Hallie Clarice Coffey; two great-grandsons, Charles Gavin Coffey and Griffen Andrew Coffey; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Riley Coffey; and sister-in-law and dear friend, Pauline Coffey. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. CDT Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Jamestown Christian Church in Jamestown, Kentucky. H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in charge of arrangements.
