BLAKE, MABEL C., 83 of Oakdale died Aug. 24, 1999. She was born in Morgan County, April 16, 1916 to Charlie and Mae Clark. Married to Dave Morgan Blake, April 4, 1951.

Preceded by husband on Dec. 9, 1963 and granddaughter Rebecca Joy Bailey on Jan. 18, 1988.

Myrtle Clark and Rev. Fred Ewing Copeland were married on 27 April 1940 in Roane Co., TN.33059 Rev. Fred Ewing Copeland was born on 28 March 1918 in Fulton Co., AR. Rev. Copeland died on 24 February 2009 at the age of 90 in Tennessee and was buried at Rankin Chapel Cemetery in Oakdale, Morgan Co., TN on 28 February 2009.

Bro. Fred Ewing Copeland, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009.

Born March 28, 1918. in Fulton County, Ark., he was the oldest of four children of David Allen and Della Copeland, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a resident of Morgan County for more than 70 years. He accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord in 1936 at the age of 17, and the Lord called him to preach a few months later. He rode his horse 8 miles to preach his first sermon on Oct. 10, 1938. He pastored 12 churches, some two or three times, in Morgan, Cumberland and Roane Counties.

He leaves behind a great legacy. His employment history includes cutting timber, farming, working for the railroad and serving as bus driver for Morgan County Schools for 26 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Copeland; and grandson, Rodney Kivett.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Della Mae and Lloyd Kivett of Nashville and Nancy and Alan Horton of Greenbrier; granddaughter, Christa Horton of Nashville; brother; James Copeland; and sisters, Elsie Copeland of El Paso, Texas, and Hazel Copeland of Springfield, Mo.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in Rankin Chapel Church, with Bro. Kerry Ruppe and Bro. Bill Goodman officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at the church cemetery. Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, is in charge of arrangements. [Source: Benna J.]
