Coffey Funeral To Be Held Thursday

MOULTON -- Wilbur Lawrence Coffey, 57, Moulton, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at his home, after four months illness.

He had owned and operated Coffey Grocery Store in Moulton for 26 years prior to his illness. A member of Moulton Baptist Church, he had served on the board of deacons for more than 12 years. He was a member of Moulton Masonic Lodge, No. 6, and the Moulton Businessmens organization. He was a native of Lawrence County.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moulton Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Riley and Rev. R.E. Owens officiating. Burial will be made in Montgomery cemetery at Wren, with Elliott Brown-Service directing.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hilda Coffey; two sisters, Mrs. Buck Armor and Mrs. Walter Dutton, both of Moulton, Route 4; two nieces, Mrs. Joe Purcell, Columbia, Tenn., and Ann Coffey, Moulton, two nephews, Laymon Coffey, Moulton, and Lawrence Armor, Harvey, Ill. 

Wilbur Lawrence Coffey and Nancy Myrtle Jackson were married on 12 September 1926 in Lawrence Co., AL.³²⁹²³ Nancy Myrtle Jackson, daughter of Robert E. Jackson and Mary E. Ezell, was born in 1902 in Alabama. Nancy died in Moulton, Lawrence Co., AL on 2 December 1948. Montgomery Cemetery in Moulton, Lawrence Co., AL in December 1948 .^32924,32925
