Monty moved to Colorado in 1937 with his family and has resided in Colorado Springs. Monty worked as an assembler with the Goodwill Industries.

He had a great interest in fire fighting and would enjoy visiting local Colorado Springs Fire Stations. He was a very friendly and social person. He spent time listening to Christian music, watching movies and traveling around the community on the bus system. He knew every bus route, where it would take him and how long it would take. He loved spending time at the Malls, window shopping and socializing. When Monty met a new person, he memorized their name and never forgot them, even decades later.

Monty is survived by his brother, James Coffee and wife, Starr; nephew, Mark Coffee and wife, Amanda; niece Grace Wilson and husband, Levi; great nephews, Benjamin and Zekariyah and great niece, Ruth; as well as many friends.
