He was born July 15, 1931 to the late Jack Daniel Coffey and Dorothy Heinke Coffey. He was a retired supervisor for Union Carbide and a life long Catholic. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Arthur and Maggie Heinke, and William and Mary Coffey, a son, Michael Coffey, and a nephew, Joey Coffey. Survivors are his wife Patricia Everton Coffey, a daughter, Debby Carter and son-in-law Ricky Carter of Seadrift, Texas, a son, Danny Coffey of Seadrift, Texas and three grandchildren, a sister, Sue Miller of West Field, Iowa, a brother, Jimmy Coffey and sister-in-law, Jane Coffey of Fredericksburg, Texas, a special granddaughter, Maggie De La Garza and husband Bart, and great granddaughter Emily De La Garza of Austin, Texas. Honorary Pallbearers are Allan Berger, Cathy Bishop, Dottie Coffey, Bill Corbell, Allan Dearman, Orbie Ellis, Bernie Grieves, Tammy Mathey, Dick McCoy, Leroy Spiegel, the late James Roemer and the Saint Joseph Class of 1948. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Celestino Say officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
