Obituary, Crosbyton Review, Apr. 23, 1981 A Crosby County resident since 1906, George Houston Strange of Crosbyton was claimed by death at 6:15 a.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Strange was 86. Memorial services for the well known Crosbytonite were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Crosbyton with the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Strange had been a resident of Crosbyton Care Center for several years before entering the hospital slightly over a week prior to his death. He was born Nov. 13, 1894 in Tom Green County and was married to Ellis Coffey on Oct. 9, 1918 in Ralls. Mrs. Strange preceded her husband in death on April 1, 1957. Their only child, Edith Jewel Strange, was claimed by death July 19, 1919. A retired farmer, Mr. Strange was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton.
