356. Garland G. Coffey was born circa 1802 in Amherst Co., VA. He appeared in the census on 2 September 1870 in Nelson Co., VA.1225 Garland died in Nelson Co., VA circa 1874.

The marriage license for son Alfred shows that he was the son of "Garland G. and Nancy Coffey."

Garland G. Coffey and Nancy Coffey were married on 17 March 1825 in Nelson Co., VA.1226,1227 They1226,1227 appeared in the census on 22 August 1850 in Nelson Co., VA.1228 They1228 appeared in the census on 11 September 1860 in Nelson Co., VA.1229 Garland and Nancy1229 appeared in the census on 2 September 1870 in Nelson Co., VA.1230 Nancy Coffey, daughter of Reuben G. Coffey and Nancy Giles, was born circa 1808 in Virginia. She lived with her son-in-law Joshua Allen in Nelson Co., VA on 30 June 1880.

John W. Coffey was born circa 1839 in Nelson Co., VA. He lived with his parents in Nelson Co., VA on 22 August 1850. He lived with his parents in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA on 11 September 1860.

No other information has been found. He too might have been a victim of the civil war.

Moses Coffey was born circa 1842 in Nelson Co., VA. He lived with his parents in Nelson Co., VA on 22 August 1850. He lived with his parents in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA on 11 September 1860.

This may be the Moses Coffey who enlisted as a private in Lamkin's Amherst-Nelson Light Artillery Regiment on Sep. 3, 1861. He was age 22 and a resident of Massies Mill. At age 22, he would have been born in 1839.

No other information has been found, indicating to me that he likely died of wounds during the civil war.

Harrison Coffey was born circa 1844 in Nelson Co., VA. Harrison enlisted in the in Lamkin's Amherst-Nelson Light Artillery Regiment on 3 September 1861 at Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA.1231

Harrison enlisted in the Confederate army and was likely killed in action. No other information has been found.
