AMHERST - Mary Coffey Aistrop, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank Lorenza Aistrop.

Born March 23, 1922, in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Ethel Carr Coffey. She was a member of Amherst Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley B. Painter and husband, Eugene, of Orange, and Thelma B. Pickering and husband, Charles, of Alexandria; a sister, Ethel Marie Shaw of Madison Heights; five grandchildren, Cynthia Harris and husband, Warren, of Lovingston, Darlene Woodson and husband, Keith, of Mechanicsville, Samantha Painter of Orange, Victor Tomlin of Alexandria, and Bryan Painter and wife, Tonya, of Amherst.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Driskill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert J. Collins and the Rev. John W. Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst Cemetery [sic] [Adial Baptist Church Cemetery].

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today at Driskill Funeral Chapel, 946-5529. Memorial contributions may be made to Amherst Baptist Church, P.O. Box 494, Amherst, VA 24521.

Mary Coffey and Frank Lorenza Aistrop were married. Frank Lorenza Aistrop was born on 15 June 1919 in Nelson Co., VA. Frank enlisted in the on 13 February 1941 at Roanoke, VA.42935 Frank died on 14 March 1975 at the age of 55 in Nelson Co., VA and was buried at Adial Baptist Church Cemetery in Faber, Nelson Co., VA.42936,42937,42938
