Pulmotor Arrives Too Late To Help Stricken Citizen

A pulmotor crew from the fire department was rushed to the home of J. W. Coffey, 3941 Locust street, yesterday morning when Mr. Coffey suffered an acute heart attack, but did not use the resuscitating machine as a doctor had already pronounced the patient dead.

Mr. Coffey was 77 years old. He had been in failing health for some time. He had been employed by the Southern California Gas company.

Surviving Mr. Coffey are his widow, Mrs. Althea Coffey, four sons and two daughters. The daughters are Mr. E. Beal and Mrs. Allen Dunbar of Riverside. Sons are Chester C. Coffey of Riverside, S. A. Coffey of San Bernardino and George W. Coffey of Pittsburgh.

Coffey - In Riverside, Calif., Feb. 15, 1931, John W. Coffey, aged 77 years. Beloved husband of Mrs. Althea Coffey of 3941 Locust street, Riverside; father of Chester C. Coffey, Mrs. E. Beal, Mrs. Allen Dunbar, all of Riverside; S. A. Coffey of Los Angeles, C. A. Coffey of San Bernardino, and George W. Coffey of Pittsburgh, Pa. Services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the M. H. Simons & Co. chapel, Rev. W. W. Catherwood officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery. Magnolia camp No. 92, W.O.W., will have charge of the services at the cemetery.

Coffey Family Holds Reunion in Riverside

The home of Chief Petty Officer and Mrs. Clinton Coffey on Garden Home Court was the scene of a family reunion Saturday evening in honor of the return of the host and his brother, Comdr. George Coffey, from two years of service overseas.

Guests in addition to Comdr. and Mrs. Coffey of San Bernardino, were Mr. and Mrs. Allan Dunbar, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Coffey of West Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hutcheson, Mrs. Jack Beal and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Beal.
