Adeline Grace Whiteley of Gower, MO passed away, at the age of 89 on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

Adeline was born May 25, 1921 near Stewartsville, MO to Levi and Dorothy (Homan) Coffey. She was a member of the Freeman Chapel Church.

Adeline married Leslie W. Whiteley on March 3, 1940. They lived on the family farm until his death in 1974, after which she moved to Gower. She retired from K-Mart in 1984, and began working and living part-time in Branson, MO, for the next eighteen years.

Adeline was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and she enjoyed working in her yard, growing flowers and traveling. Her presence will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Les, in 1974, her parents, brothers, Curtis and David Coffey, and sister Mary Lee Sutton.

Survivors include her sister, Dottie Jean Banman; daughter, Joyce (Bud) Wilkerson, Gower, MO; son Ron Whiteley (Helen) Plattsburg, MO; five grandchildren, Tammi (Scott) Cutter, Misty Wilkerson, Travis Whiteley, Andrea (Adam) Meloan, and Dustin (Kristen) Whiteley; six great-grandchildren, Gillian and Matt Cutter, Brooks and Mason Meloan, Brady and Cooper Whiteley; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16th at Freeman Chapel Church, Easton, MO.

Burial: Kerns Freeman Cemetery.

The family suggests planting a Dogwood Tree in her memory.

Adeline Grace Coffey and Leslie W. Whiteley were married on 3 March 1940 in Missouri. Leslie W. Whiteley was born in 1916 in Kentucky. Leslie died in Kentucky in 1974 and was buried at Kerns-Freeman Cemetery in Easton, Buchanan Co., MO in 1974 .37653
