54. Martha "Patsy" Coffey was born circa 1758 in Albemarle Co., VA. Martha died in Wayne Co., KY circa 1826.

Martha "Patsy" Coffey and Mastin (Martin?) Durham were married circa 1774 in Albemarle Co., VA. Mastin (Martin?) Durham135, son of John Durham and Molly Jenkins, was born in 1755 in Hanover Co., VA. He enlisted in the Continental Army in 1779 in Wilkes Co., NC.136 Mastin died on 1 August 1844 at the age of 89 in Wayne Co., KY and was buried at Big Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY.137,138,139

Mastin was a veteran of the Rev. War. He was also active for a time in the Yadkin Church, holding office of clerk, but according to 1807 minutes of the chuch he accused the church of being "extortionists, drunkards and disorderly persons," and wanted to withdraw his fellowship. He was eventually excommunicated.

All of the children of Martha and Mastin were born in Wilkes Co., but the family eventually moved to Wayne Co., KY in 1811 where both Martha and Mastin died. Martha died prior to Aug. 12, 1826 and was buried near the Coffey Settlement in Wayne Co. Many Coffey researchers have her born 1768 and married in 1794. These dates may be the result of copying errors.

He appeared in the 1840 census of Revolutionary War pensioners living in Wayne Co., KY.
