10070. Genettie I. Coffey was born on 31 August 1911 in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA. Genettie died at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA on 12 May 1988 and was buried at Monticello Memorial Park in Charlottesville, VA in May 1988 .30025

Ginetta Coffey Fitzgerald, of 838 Belmont Ave., died Thursday at the University of Virginia Hospital.

She was born in Montebello on Aug. 31, 1911, a daughter of the late Massie F. and Sidie Campbell Coffey. She was an employee of the Blue Ridge Terrace on Afton Mountain and was retired from the dietary department of Blue Ridge Sanitorium.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie H. Fitzgerald of Charlottesville; two daughters, Mrs. John (Geneva) Thomas and Mrs. Raymond (Audrey) Spears, both of Charlottesville; three sons, J.H. Fitzgerald, Lester M. Fitzgerald and Roger L. Fitzgerald, all of Charlottesville; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Lorene) Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft and Mrs. Wilber (Gladys) Bradley of Greenville; three brothers; E.H. Coffey of Verona, Paul H. Coffey of Staunton and Davis Coffey of Unionville; 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death was a son, Charles M. Fitzgerald; a brother, Brent Coffey; two sisters, Anthy Mae Coffey and Dorothy Painter; and a grand-daughter.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Assembly of God Church, Rio Rd., with the Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Montebello Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Rd.

Genettie I. Coffey and Eddie H. Fitzgerald were married. Eddie H. Fitzgerald was born on 20 October 1907 in Rockcastle Co., KY. Eddie died in Charlottesville, VA on 5 March 1992 and was buried at Charlottesville, VA in March 1992.30026

Eddie H. Fitzgerald, 84, of Charlottesville, formerly of Greenfield in Nelson Co., died Thursday, March 5, 1992, in a local adult care facility. Born Oct. 20, 1907, in Rockbridge Co., he was the son of the late Seaton and Mary E. Fitzgerald. He was the widower of Ginetta Iola Coffey Fitzgerald. He was retired from the Co. [sic] [County] of Augusta.

Surviving are two daughters, Geneva Thomas and Audrey Spears and three sons, Junior Fitzgerald, Lester Fitzgerald and Roger Lee Fitzgerald, all of Charlottesville; a sister, Nellie Bartley of Crozet; a brother, Claude Fitzgerald of Buena Vista; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Charles Fitzgerald and two brothers, Jake and James Fitzgerald. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 7, in First Assembly of God Church by Pastor James Johnson. Interment was at Monticello Memory Gardens. Teague Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
