Virginia Ann Eggers Coffey, 79, of Hickory passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at the Brookdale Senior Living Center in Hickory.

Born July 18, 1939, in Watauga County, Virginia was a daughter of the late Orvile Eugene and Ida Bryant Eggers.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Odus Coffey, three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Leona Wesley of Biloxi, Mississippi; a sister, Coma Crump (husband John) of Lenoir; two grandchildren, Nichole and Natalie Wesley of Biloxi, Mississippi; a special niece, Barbara Stone of Granite Falls; and she is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Chaplain David Kent officiating.

Interment will take place in the Crestview Memorial Park in South Hill, Virginia, at a later date.
