Vaden Columbus Coffey, 79, of Buena Vista, died Monday, August 22, 2005 at his home.

Mr. Coffey was born on October 12, 1925 in Buena Vista, a son of the late David Coffey and Nora Lee Lawhorne Coffey.

He was a member of the 29th Street Brethren Church in Buena Vista, the American Legion and retired from Bernson Silk Mill.

Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Edna Burch Coffey; one son, David Lee Coffey, both of Buena Vista; one brother, William Coffey of Buena Vista; and one sister, Lorraine Mays of Stuarts Draft.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chris Becker officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.

A living couple was married in 1947 at at the home of Rev. H. L. Cathey in Lexington, VA.43350,43351 Living, daughter of William R. Burch and Mamie Elizabeth Lawhorn, was born circa 1928 in Virginia. Living resided with her parents in Pedlar Dist., Amherst Co., VA in 1940.
