Luther Coffey

Luther Dale Coffey, 73, of Marble, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016.

He was the son of the late Barney and Mary Bell Coffey.

Luther worked as a salesman for Ennis Hardware. He enjoyed horses, hunting and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Luther was a member of Marble Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Iris Coffey; one son, Steve Coffey; three brothers, Creed Coffey, Charles Coffey and Morris Coffey; and one sister, Marie Moore.

He is survived by three sons, Brian Coffey and wife Kim of Acworth, Ga., Tony Coffey of Hayesville, and Tim Coffey and wife Melanie of Clarksville, Ga.; one brother, Howard Coffey and wife Martha of Marble; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Marble Springs Baptist Church. The Revs. Jeff Maynard and John Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Sawyer, Tommy Ramsey, Danny Wilson, Jim Falls, Giles Ennis and Brian Stewart.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Marble Springs Baptist Church.

Iris Coffey, age 67, of Marble, NC passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Buncombe County, NC.

She was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Harold Preston and Lola Catherine West Brown. Iris enjoyed reading and gardening. She was a member of the Marble Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Steven Lynn Coffey.

She is survived by her husband, Luther Dale Coffey; two sons, Anthony Dale Coffey of Marble, NC and Douglas Brian Coffey of Acworth, GA; two brothers, Richard Brown of Marble, NC and Randy Brown of Blue Ridge, GA; four sisters, Brenda Brown of the Peachtree Community, Connie Patton of Blairsville, GA, Terri Dalrymple of Marble, NC and Beth George of Rosman, GA; three grandchildren, Heather Coffey of Acworth, GA, Stephanie Rast of Kennesaw, GA and Jennifer Moncrief of Acworth, GA; two great grandchildren, Ryan Moncrief of Acworth, GA and Madison Rast of Kennesaw, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Marble Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Maynard and Rev. Tom Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be in the Moss Cemetery in Marble, NC. Pallbearers will be Jim Falls, Danny Wilson, Tommy Ramsey, Roger Gibson, Roger Holloway and Wendell Hedden.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Marble Springs Baptist Church.

Tony Coffey, age 56 of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, January 6, 2018 at the Clay County Care Center.

He was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Luther Dale and Beverly Iris Brown Coffey. Tony was a salesman.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Coffey.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Speakers will be Ed Callais, Johnny Moore and Tim Coffey. Burial will be in the Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Moncrief, John Rast, Allan Whisler, Ed Callais, Gerry Molineaux and Johnny Moore.
