Mrs. Emma Brydge, wife of Oscar Brydge, died at her home in the Lyndhurst-Sherando community last night at ten-thirty o'clock following a short illness. She was 39 years, one month and ten days of age and is survived by her mother, Mrs. Alice Coffey, who lives at the Brydge home; one brother, Paul Coffey, of Staunton; and three young sons, Emory, David, and Elwood.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Mountain View Mennonite Church, above Sherando, at two o'clock tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. Rev. Joseph Driver will be in charge. The family requests no flowers.

Pallbearers will be Paul Brydge, Silas Brydge, George Brydge, Vance Brydge, Joe Hailey and Harry Willis.

Emma Maud Coffey and Oscar Robert Brydge were married circa 1920 in Virginia. They appeared in the census on 14 April 1930 in South River Dist., Augusta Co., VA.28424 Oscar Robert Brydge, son of Edward Richard Byrdge and Isabelle Henderson, was born on 28 May 1896 in Augusta Co., VA. Oscar died at Waynesboro Community Hospital in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA on 5 February 1969 of metastatic pancreatic cancer and was buried at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA in February 1969 .28425,28426,28427

A funeral service for Oscar Robert Brydge, 72, of Route 1, Stuarts Draft, who died Wednesday in Waynesboro Community Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday.

The service will be held in Lynside Mennonite Church at Lyndhurst, conducted by the Rev. Truman H. Brunk, assisted by the Rev. Franklin Weaver and the Rev. Judson Baldwin. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Brydge was a member of the Lynside Mennonite Church. He was born in Augusta County on May 27, 1896, a son of the late Edward R. and Isabelle Henderson Brydge.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Coffey Brydge; and two sons by his marriage to Emma Maud Coffey who died on March 10, 1936, Elwood Brydge of Williamsburg and David Brydge of Stuarts Draft; five brothers, Silas W. Brydge, Paul R. Brydge, Vance R. Brydge, and Amos E. Brydge, all of Lyndhurst, and George T. Brydge of Staunton; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hailey and Mrs. Viola Tisdale, both of Stuarts Draft; Mrs. Edna Willis and Mrs. Lonie Bridge, both of Lyndhurst; and five grandchildren. A son Emory Robert Brydge preceded him in death on June 14, 1956.

Active pallbearers will be Leonard Brydge, Carlton Brydge, Grayson Tomlin, Conrad Willis, Rockwell Harris, John E. Hailey, Hershel Bridge and Reginald Bridge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Maupin, Burley Mays, Joe Harmon, Russell Thompson, Ralph Martin, Dr. John W. Forbes, III, Earl Henderson, Russell Shank, Enos Grove, Joseph K. Ellinger, Roy Kiser, John D. Martin, Robert Hartman, Donald McClure and William Howerton.

The body will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service.

Friends will be received at the Etter Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m.
