Mr. Floyd Rufus Coffey, age 96, of Cartpath Road, North Wilkesboro, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Villages of Wilkes Skilled Care. Mr. Coffey was born December 27, 1915 in Wilkes County to James Fletcher and Stella Mae Reynolds Coffey. He was a member of Baptist Home Baptist Church and was employed with Hour Glass Dry Cleaners. Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Reba Tinsley Coffey; two sisters, Lula Hinson and Mamie Coffey; seven brothers, Henry F. Coffey, Manley Coffey, John Coffey, Cecil Coffey, William (Bill) Coffey, Clyde Coffey, and James (Jim) Coffey.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Edith Hardy Coffey of the home; two daughters, Margaret Burgess and husband Harrison of North Wilkesboro, Mary Frances Bussey of Monroe; three grandchildren, John Bussey of Rock Hill, S.C., Margaret Courtney of Summerville, S.C., Theresa Reynolds of Fernandina Beach, Florida; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Hannah Bussey of Rock Hill, S.C.; one brother, Rev. Paul Coffey and wife Dorothy of Deep Gap; one sister, Ruth Severt and husband Wayne of North Wilkesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 o’clock Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Baptist Home Baptist Church with Dr. Lon Chenowith and the Rev. Jeff Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 o’clock Tuesday night. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Home Baptist Church Building Fund, 2367 Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.

They appeared in the census on 1 April 1940 in Mulberry Twp., Wilkes Co., NC.30456 Royster Reba Tinsley, daughter of David Luther Tinsley and Myra Rhoades, was born on 1 December 1914 in Wilkes Co., NC.30457 Royster and her mother were boarders with Fred and Jennie Jacobs in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC on 17 January 1920. She lived with Gentry and Martha Adams in Mulberry Twp., Wilkes Co., NC on 21 April 1930. North Wilkesboro -- Funeral for Mrs. Floyd R. Coffey, 50, of Route 1, North Wilkesboro, who died Tuesday, will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Baptist Home Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Floyd Rufus Coffey and Edith Elizabeth Hardy were married. Edith Elizabeth Hardy, daughter of Luther Spencer Hardy and Lona Louvina Lane, was born on 9 September 1921 in Watauga Co., NC.30461 Edith died in North Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC on 6 May 2012 and was buried at Mountlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in North Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC on 9 May 2012 .30462

Mrs. Edith Elizabeth Hardy Coffey, age 90, of Cartpath Road, North Wilkesboro, died Sunday, May 7, 2012 at Wilkes Senior Village. Mrs. Coffey was born September 9, 1921 in Watauga County to Luther Spencer and Lona Louvina Lane Hardy. Mrs. Coffey was a member of Baptist Home Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Floyd Rufus Coffey; four brothers, Edd Hardy, Ben Hardy, Howard Hardy and Charles Hardy; three sisters, Mabel Hartley, Hazel Beach and Gladys Stevens.

Surviving are two step-daughters, Margaret Burgess and husband Harrison of North Wilkesboro, and Mary Frances Bussey of Monroe; four sisters, Hessie Osborne of Wilkesboro, Jean Wolfrey of Orange, Virginia, Ruth Baker of Rapidan, Virginia, Betty Barnette of Wilkesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 o’clock Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Baptist Home Baptist Church with Dr. Lon Chenowith and the Rev. Jeff Blackburn officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Entombment will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 o’clock Tuesday night.
