WICHITA, KAN. - Bettye Coffee Tumlinson, 74, died Sunday, March 19, 2006.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pine Valley Christian Church, reception following. Arrangements are by Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.

Bettye Coffee Tumlinson, born April 10, 1931, in Amarillo, Texas, was a retired teacher (Brookes and Horace Mann social studies), Special Projects Manager and Teacher Inservice Specialist for USD 259 and owner of Computer Training Resources.

Bettye graduated from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, with a BA in sociology with honors and from Wichita State University with a M Ed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pearl Coffee; a brother, Woodson; and two infant children, Charlotte and Arthur.

Survivors include her husband, Dick; a son, Chuck Tumlinson and wife Judy of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Lyne Tumlinson and husband Stuart Johnson of Lawrence; grandchildren, Aleksander McElroy, Stephen Johnson of Lawrence and Christa and Mark Tumlinson of Anaheim; and a sister, Ethel Couvillion and husband Jack of Shreveport, La.
