Richard Thomas CoffeySTUARTS DRAFTRichard Thomas Coffey, 86, of 135 Dodge Street, died unexpectedly at 9:15 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Nelson County, on August 25, 1928, the son of the late Forest and Eva Campbell Coffey.He was a member of the Stuarts Draft Baptist Church and was President of both Coffey Trucking and Top Line Trucking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Houston Coffey and a sister, Louise Campbell.Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Coffey; three sons, Michael Scott Coffey and wife, Kim of Love, Delmas W. Coffey and wife, Betsy of Fishersville and Ronald Coffey of Lynchburg; six daughters, Jackie Duff of Staunton, Wanda Marks and husband, Chris of Stuarts Draft, Hilda Fisher of Waynesboro, Nancy Baker and husband, Don of Waynesboro, Linda Raines and husband, Wayne of Crozet, Dianne Simmons of Waynesboro; two sisters, Ruby Coffey of Lyndhurst and Madeline Hewitt of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Ricky Daw, Whitney Haynes, Kelsi Coffey, Cheyenne Coffey, Levi Coffey, Gabby Marks; as well as many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Billy Coffey and the Rev. Dr. Will Kopp officiating.Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.Active pallbearers will be Jerry Bryant, Larry Bryant, Roxie Liptrap, Matt Welcher, Jim Grant, Randall Almarode, Petie Eavers and Trent Showalter. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the funeral home.
