Robert Coffey, age 82 years, of 130 L. Hancock Road, Columbia, KY entered his heavenly home on Saturday, May 4, 2013 after several months illness. 

He was born September 14, 1930 in the Knifley Community of Adair County, the son of the late Eligah and Mary Bedwell Coffey. 

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Hobert Coffey, Junior Coffey, Viril Coffey and by a sister Mae Burton. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Agnes Taylor Coffey of Columbia, KY; one son: James Robert "J.R." Coffey of Columbia, KY; three daughters: Alice (Wayne) Irvin of Columbia, KY, Linda (Ricky) Smith of Columbia, KY, Judy (Kyle) Stephens of Russell Springs, KY; two brothers: Romer Coffey of Columbia, KY, James Coffey of Edinburg, IN; three sisters: Nannie Swallows of Edinburg, IN, Betty Rooks of Edinburg, IN, Polly Rooks of Edinburg, IN; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. 

Mr. Coffey was a member of the Caldwell Chapel Separate Baptist Church where he had served has a deacon and board member. He was a foreman for the R. E. Gaddie Asphalt. 

Plant in Columbia for many years and was a self- plumber. He was a charter member of the Adair County Rescue Squad, a member of the gospel group "God's Workers." He was also an avid long time CB radio operator with the handle of "Coffee Cup." 

Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Antle officiating. 

Interment in the Bearwallow Cemetery. 

Pallbearers: James Coffey, Wayne Irvin, Ricky Smith, Chris Coffey, Sam Smith, Shawn Smith, and Jonn Stephens. 

Honorary pallbearers: Elvin Giles, Romer Coffey, Eugene Rooks, Bobby Coffey, and the member of the Caldwell Chapel Separate Baptist Church.

A living couple was married in 1950 in Adair Co., KY.41724 Living (private).
