4448. Gladys Green Coffey was born on 20 October 1914 in Nelson Co., VA. Gladys died on 16 July 1993 at the age of 78 in Nelson Co., VA and was buried at White Rock Cemetery in Montebello, Nelson Co., VA.

Mrs. Gladys G. Taylor, 78, formerly of Route 4, Box 198, died at lO:30 p.m. Friday (July 16, l993) at Liberty House Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Nelson Co., a daughter of the late Charlie A. and Teressie Fitzgerald Coffey. She was employed with Genesco Clothing Manufacturing for 21 years before retirement in 1976. She was a member of Sherando Chrisian Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Woody Coffey and a sister, Mrs. Ottis (Eula) Fitzgerald, on Nov. 21, 1983. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Orcie W. Taylor, whom she married July 13, 1934; three sons, Safard "Sonny" Taylor, of Route 2, Stuarts Draft, Donald W. Taylor of Route 4, Waynesboro, and Ronald "Butch" Taylor of Route 1, Stuarts Draft; three daughters-in-law, Mary "Sissy" Taylor, Sue A. Taylor and Mary Lee Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Alvis (Myrtle) Grant of Shipman; two grandchildren, Jesse Taylor of Route 1, Stuarts Draft and Mrs. Greg (Nancy) Varner of Route 2 Mt. Solon; and by a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves beh1nd two special friends, Bill Allen and Christopher Marshall.

A service was conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Stuarts Draft chapel of Etter Funeral Home by Don Cash. Burial was at White Rock cemetery. Active pallbearers were Roger Allen, John Hailey, William Coffey, Bill Sensabaugh, Bill Allen and Glenn Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Melissa Fretwell, Wanda Bryant, Kitty Coffey, Ruth Martin, Hilda Buchanan, Harriett Allen, Betty Allen, Manley Allen and Eddie Allen.

Gladys Green Coffey and Orcie Wilmer Taylor were married on 13 July 1934 in Nelson Co., VA. They appeared in the census on 26 April 1940 in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA.14406 Orcie Wilmer Taylor, son of Henry Massie Taylor and Zina Coffey, was born on 29 June 1913 in Nelson Co., VA. Orcie died on 9 March 2001 at the age of 87 in Nelson Co., VA and was buried at White Rock Cemetery in Montebello, Nelson Co., VA.

Donald Wilmer "Don" Taylor was born on 25 October 1944 in Lynchburg, Independent City, VA. Donald died in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA on 2 March 2013 and was buried at White Rock Cemetery in Montebello, Nelson Co., VA on 8 March 2013 .

Donald "Don" Wilmer Taylor Donald "Don" Wilmer Taylor, 68, of Waynesboro, passed away early on Saturday morning, March 2, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born on October 25, 1944, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Orcie W. and Gladys Coffey Taylor. Then moved to the Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro area in 1952 from Tye River.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Safard " Sonny" Taylor; mother and father-in-law, Harold Dennis and Vivian Allen; paternal grandparents, Henry Massie and Zina Coffey Taylor; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Teressie Fitzgerald Coffey; and a brother-in-law, Ronald D. Allen.

Don attended Fleetwood Elementary School in Nelson County, Stuarts Draft Elementary School, and Wilson Memorial High School. He was a member of the Evergreen Christian Church in Tyro, Virginia. He loved hunting, camping, and pulling pranks on his family and friends for a good laugh. Don was a logger by trade for many years, having logged with many different friends, retiring from the industry with his brother in-law, Roger D. Allen.

Don is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Allen Taylor; a son, Christopher Marshall and wife, Deanna; two grandsons, Lance and Colton Marshall; two God grandchildren, Gabe and Mia Cook; a brother, Ronald "Butch" Taylor and wife, Mary Lee; brother in-law, Roger D. Allen and wife, Harriet; brother in-law, Lynn D. Allen and wife, Barbara; sister in-law, Peggy Bryant and husband, Allen; sister-in-law, Mary "Sissy" D. Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends and family members who loved and respected Don and his ability to guide them in fixing trucks and logging equipment.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro. A funeral service with be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, in the chapel of McDow Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Turner and Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial services will follow at White Rock Cemetery in Tye River.

Active pallbearers with be Lance Marshall, Matt Welcher, Jason Campbell, Robert Allen, Jesse Taylor, William Coffey, Jerry Allen, Bucky Allen, Jerry Bryant, Larry Bryant, Robert D. Jones, and Kelvin Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be David McGann, Everett Allen, Jerry Phillips, Rosie Phillips, Linda Bodkin, Kenny Beverly, Shelia Harris, Carlene Rankin, Faye Harris, David Coffey, Billy Coffey, Gary Killingsworth, Vivian Killingsworth, and nieces and nephews attending.
