Dovie Jane Bentley, 63, of Coy Hartley Lane, Hudson, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center.

She was born May 11, 1945, in Caldwell County to the late Lawrence Crump and Ruby Coffey Crump.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Bentley; two brothers, Lawrence Junior Crump and Gaylord Crump; two sisters, Elizabeth Woody and Mary Ingram; her father-in-law, the Rev. Claude Bentley; and her mother-in-law, Estella Bentley.

Mrs. Bentley was employed at Bernhardt Furniture Plant 7 and was of the Holiness faith.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Bentley and wife Judy of Hudson; one daughter, Paula Bowman and husband Michael of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Jason Bowman and wife Krista, Chad Bowman and girlfriend Emily Teague, Stephanie Bentley (Maw Maw's best friend and little girl), Emily Bentley, Kirstin and Nathan: two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Bowman and Evan Bowman; three sisters, Mrs. Winnie Bolick, Mrs. Dolly Coffey and Mrs. Ressie Dupuis; and one brother, Ronnie Crump; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at 6:30 a.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Buford Pennell. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad and Jason Bowman, Walter and Eddie Walsh, Minh Thai, Jimmy Coffey, Bill Johnson and Greg Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bentley and Michael Bowman.

The family of Dovie Bentley would like to thank Jackie Pope for all her help and kindness for their loved one.

Dovie Jane Crump and Mack Lane Bentley were married. Mack Lane Bentley was born on 20 November 1944 in Caldwell Co., NC. Mack died in Hickory, Catawba Co., NC on 21 April 2003 and was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC in April 2003 .48355
