OMA MAE JOHNSON COFFEY

Oma Mae Johnson Coffey, 88, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2007. She professed her faith in the Lord at an early age. She was a member of Three Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Coffey Sr. of Sneedville; parents, George and Alpha Johnson; brothers, Reuben Johnson, Lenn Johnson, Booker Johnson; and sisters, Ada Coffey, Eula Baker, and Pauline Brogan.

Survivors include her children, Carson (Karen) Coffey Jr. of Morristown, Charlotte (Phillip) Greene of Sneedville, Cloda (Joe) Short of Morristown, and Jean (Bill) Scearce of Thorn Hill; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; special loved ones, Travis Miller and Faye Miller; sisters, Edith Brogan and Barbara Cook, both of Whitesburg; and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Short, Jeffrey Greene, Lance Greene, Brian Drinnon, Corey Mayes and Travis Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Greene, Mark Greene, Adam Greene, Josh Cooper, and Kevin Harrell. The singer will be Erica Walker. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Heritage Nursing Center.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday evening. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sonny Davis and Rev. Joe Davis officiating. She will lie in state throughout the morning prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

CARSON ESTLE “CHIEF” COFFEY, age 77 of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Sneedville 0n May 20, 1938. He was saved at Chinquepin Baptist Church at the age of 14. He retired after 40 years at Berkline –Customer repair. He was a talented artist doing hand painted items and wood working. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He married Karen Coffey on May 30, 1996 in Morristown.He was preceded in death by his parents; Carson and Oma Coffey, 1st wife, Dorothy (Dottie) Hawk Coffey, brother-in-law; Phil Greene, brother-in-law; Junior Hawks of Bean Station, father-in-law; George Manning.He is survived by wife; Karen Coffey of Morristown, daughter; Teresa ( Jim) Fulton of White Pine, stepson; Kevin Harrell and Fiance Gayle Smith of Greeneville, grandson; Adam (Brittney) Greene of Morristown, granddaughters; Kyley Buell and Lakelynn Harrell of Greeneville., sisters; Charlotte Greene of Sneedville, Cloda (Joe) Short of Morristown, Jean (Bill) Scearce of Thorn Hill, brother-in-law; Wayne (Beulah) Manning of Dayton, OH, aunt Barbara (Leonard) Cook of Whitesburg, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Greene officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, March 14 for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristowwn.
