James A. Coffey

La Grange - James A. Coffey, 71, a farmer,died at 7:52 a.m. Monday in the St. Anthony Hospital, Louisville, after an illness of several weeks.

He was a native of Estill County and a resident of Madison County before moving to La Grange. He was a deacon of the La Grange Christian Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Hensley Coffey; two daughters, Mrs. James H. Hopkins, La Grange and Mrs. William S. Hawkins, Louisville; a son, James E. Coffey, La Grange; four sisters; Mrs. Dave Hisle, Mrs. Noel Stephens and Mrs. James Story, Richmond, and Mrs. Homer McDaniels, Midway; four brothers, Dave, Bertie and Clark Coffey, Richmond, and Robert Coffey, Lexington; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchildren [sic].

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Adkins Radcliffe Funeral Home here by the Rev. Richard Harris and the Rev. Paul H. Moehlman.

Burial will be in the Valley of Rest cemetery here. The body is at the funeral home.

James Allen Coffey and Margaret Hensley were married. Margaret Hensley was born in 1910 in Kentucky. Margaret died in Kentucky in 1974 and was buried at Valley of Rest Cemetery in La Grange, Oldham Co., KY in 1974 .38016
