John D. Coffey

Richmond - John D. Coffey, 75, of Richmond Route 3, died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital after a short illness. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and the Mt. Zion Christian Church, and was a retired farmer.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Carr Coffey; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Cundiff, Lexington; four sisters, Mrs. Dave Hisle, Mrs. Noel Stephens and Mrs. James Story, Madison County, and Mrs. Homer McDaniels, Woodford County; five brothers, David, Bertie and Clark Coffey, Madison County; James Coffey, Oldham County, and Robert Coffey, Lexington; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Newton. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

John Dillard Coffey and Jessie Lu Carr were married on 29 November 1917 in Kentucky.38004 Jessie Lu Carr was born in 1902 in Kentucky. Jessie died in Madison Co., KY in 1976 and was buried at Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, Madison Co., KY in 1976 .38005
