Obituary, The Pawhuska Daily-Journal, Sun., Jan. 13, 1924

Mrs. Floyd Soderstrom died at the Municipal Hospital Fiday night following an operation which was the second one performed in the past week. Complications following the first operation made it seem inevitable to perform a second one Friday. The weakened condition of Mrs. Soderstorm made it impossible for her to rally from the effects, however.

The body will lie in state today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Parsons, corner of Leahy and Eighth St., until the time of the funeral. The hour of the funeral has been set for 3:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. W.S. Woodhull. Interment will be in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Soderstrom, formerly Miss Rozzia Conley, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Conley and was born near Chilocco, Oklahoma, July 20, 1897. Her mother is still living in this city at 220 East Seventh St., but her father passed away some years ago. From the Chilocco ranch home, the family removed to Pawhuska where the children entered the public schools. Mrs. Soderstrom was a member of the class of 1913 of the Pawhuska High School. She was married to Floyd Soderstrom Oct. 23, 1915.

They continued to make this city their home since that time. Mrs. Soderstrom was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful worker in the Methodist Church and a woman whose life and deeds have earned the respect and honor of the entire community. Three small children, in addition to the husband, remain to mourn her loss: Joe, age 6, Donald, age 4, and Edwin, age 3. Four brothers and two sisters, in addition to the mother, also survive.
