1596. William Luther "Lute" Coffey was born on 19 October 1853 in Kings Creek, Caldwell Co., NC. He lived with his mother. in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC on 12 June 1880. William died in Goodwill, Mercer Co., WV on 7 February 1917 and was buried at Coffee Cemetery in Mercer Co., WV in February 1917 .⁵⁹¹⁶

William Luther "Lute" Coffey and Mary Ann Barlow were married on 5 March 1874 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.⁵⁹¹⁷ Mary Ann Barlow, daughter of Joseph Barlow and Louisa Laxton, was born on 15 January 1851 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. She lived with her parents in Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 16 June 1880. She lived with her son James William in Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 26 April 1910. Mary lived with her son James William in Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 16 April 1930. She lived with her son James William Coffey in Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 12 April 1940. Mary died of paralysis on 3 February 1943 at the age of 92 in Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenoir, Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 4 February 1943.^5918,5919
