Billie Jean Coffey, 74, of Sanger, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 in Denton, Texas. 

She was born on July 12, 1936 in Sanger to Earl and Elsie (Marion) Coffey. She was Valedictorian of the Sanger High School Class of 1954 and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Jean worked as a Budget Analyst for Texas Women's University for 41 years. 

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28, 2011, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sanger. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Sanger with Dewey Lang officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Glyneen Coffey, Steve Coffey, Benny Coffey, Rex Stinchcomb, Ricky Stinchcomb and J. Frank Hayes. Interment will be in the Sanger Cemetery. 

Survivors include sister, Betty Jo Coffey of Sanger; great-nephews that lived with her were Brandon Coffey of Houston and Charles Coffey of Sanger; eight nephews, Glyneen Coffey and wife, Ursula, Dale Coffey, Wayne Coffey and wife, Shiela, Benny Coffey, Steve Coffey and wife, Barbara, Rex Stinchcomb, Ricky Stinchcomb, Gaylen Coffey; two nieces, Jan Hayes and husband, Leon, and Rhonda Smith and husband, Tommy. 

She was preceded in death by sister, Marion Lee Coffey Stinchcomb and three brothers, Wilburn Coffey, Ardell Coffey, and Jessie Earl Coffey. The family wishes to recognize special friends Jessie Lee Howard, Tinnie Howard and family, Adele Petty, Betty Clark, Jane Erwin, and Katie Flemmings. 

Coker Funeral Home in Sanger is in charge of arrangements.
