LANCASTER - Bernice Coffey East, 85, of Bethel Road in Lancaster died Tuesday, Nov 25 2008 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. 

Born March 9, 1923, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Lonzy and Beulah Atwell Coffey. She had been a beautician, served as chairwoman of the Buckeye Cemetery Fund Board and was a member of Antioch Christian Church. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Allan W. East; a sister, Helen Moore; and three brothers, Arnold, Sylvester and George Coffey. 

Survivors include her husband, A.D. East; three sons, Thomas Dean East, Paul East and Jeff East, all of Lancaster; a sister, Roberta Coffey "Rodi" Kurtz of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Mindy Ann Soard, Kelly East, Jason East and Kristen Stone; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Stone, Bailey Soard and Kasey Madison. 

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Bryce McCulley. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Jeff Soard, Lloyd Sebastian, Ray Miller, and David, Robbie and Jason East. Honorary pallbearers are Caywood Metcalf, Billy Pendleton, Bob, Ronnie, Eddie, Mike, Jimmy and Jerry Coffey, M.L. Noe, Robbie Montgomery, Delbert Long and James Earl Ross. 

Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Bernice Coffey and Archie "A. D." East were married. Archie "A. D." East, son of Rono East and Lora Parsons, was born on 19 March 1920 in Garrard Co., KY. Archie died in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY on 12 March 2013 and was buried at Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster, Garrard Co., KY on 15 March 2013 .

Archie "A.D" East, 92, of Lancaster, died Monday, March 12, at the VA Hospital in Lexington. Born May 19, 1920, in Garrard County, Archie was a son of the late Rono and Lora Parsons East. He was a farmer, of the Christian faith and a World War II Army veteran serving as a ranger.

He was the widower of Bernice Coffey East.Survivors include two sons, Jeff and Paul East; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today (March 14) with funeral services following at 7 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce McCulley officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, in the Lancaster Cemetery.
