Born September 17, 1931, in Watauga County, Geneva was a daughter of the late Marion Oliver and Lyda Ruth Edminsten Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Coffey; several infant siblings; a niece, Martha Fox; and grandson, Matthew Issac Higgins.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson, where she taught adult Sunday school for many years. She loved children and was a school teacher at Hudson Elementary for 32 years, and was also a Cub Scout leader. She and her husband, Stanley Hall, enjoyed traveling and had been to all fifty states. Geneva had a love for flowers and birds.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Stanley Robert Hall of Hudson; one daughter, Ruth Hall Higgins and husband, Nelson, of Asheville; one son, Marion Stanley Hall and wife, Stephanie, of Lenoir; one grandson, Robert Edwin Allen Higgins and wife, Beth, of High Point, N.C.; one great-grandson, Declan Sean Higgins; two sisters, Eula Mae Fox and Nancy Haas and husband, David, of Boone; and sister-in-law, Hortense Coffey of Quaker Hill, Conn. Geneva is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other family and friends that she loved.

A funeral service for Mrs. Hall will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Hudson with the Rev. Jim Hamby and the Rev. Mack Jarvis officiating. Pallbearers are Edwin Higgins, Lynn Reid, David Reid, Tim Haas, George Fox, and E. B. Fox. Entombment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014.

Geneva loved flowers, and they are welcomed to honor her memory. Memorials may also be made to Hospice of Caldwell County.

Stanley Robert Hall, 84, of Hudson passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care-Lenoir. He was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Caldwell County and was the youngest son of the late Robert Matthew "R.M." and Callie Mae White Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Geneva Faye Coffey Hall; three brothers, Ernest Hall, Ivey Hall and Willard Hall; seven sisters, Bertha Miller, Bonnie Austin, Letha Hall, Lucille Crump, Toye Fox, Lois Moretz, and Faye Knight; a son-in-law, Nelson Allen Higgins; and a grandson, Matthew Isaac Higgins.

Mr. Hall served in the Army as a military police officer at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He returned to Hudson, where he farmed on the family farm until he graduated from Winston-Salem Barber School. In 1967, he opened Hall's Barber Shop on U.S. 321 in Hudson. He was a volunteer with the Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, a longtime member of the Hudson Optimist Club, served on the Hudson Planning Board and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hudson. He spent most of his life helping people and caring for those he loved.

Sur vivors include one son, Marion Stanley Hall and wife Stephanie of Lenoir; one daughter, Ruth Hall Higgins of Asheville; one grandchild, Robert Edwin Allen Higgins and wife Beth of High Point; and two great-grandchildren, Declan Sean Higgins and Eli Tanner Higgins, both of High Point.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hudson conducted by Dr. Charles R. Brawley, the Rev. Jim Hamby and the Rev. Mack Jarvis III. Entombment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
