Byron Leon "Pete" Coffey, 61, died at 1:20 a.m. Oct. 24, 2004, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.The son of the late Moses M. and Angela A. (Barger) Coffey, he was born Feb. 9, 1943, in Martinsville. His wife, Linda Sue (Coffman) Coffey, whom he married Aug. 31, 1963, survives.Coffey retired in 2001 from General Motors Truck and Bus in Indianapolis after 29 years of service.He was a 1962 graduate of Martinsville High School and a member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Martinsville.He enjoyed woodworking and hunting.Other survivors include three sons, Steve A. and Terry Leon Coffey, both of Martinsville, and Eric L. Coffey, Indianapolis; a daughter, Michelle L. McFarland, Martinsville; brother, Dale M. Coffey, Martinsville; two sisters, Karen Denney, Martinsville, and Sandy Coffey, Illinois, and nine grandchildren.A brother, Richard Coffey, also preceded him in death. [Richard Blunk]

Bryon Leon "Pete" Coffey and Linda Sue Coffman were married on 31 August 1963 in Indiana. Linda Sue Coffman was born on 15 May 1945 in Martinsville, Morgan Co., IN. Linda died in Martinsville, Morgan Co., IN on 9 April 2010 and was buried at Martinsville, Morgan Co., IN on 12 April 2010.46618

Linda S. Coffey, a lifetime resident of Martinsville, passed from this life on Friday, April 9th, 2010 at 7:47 AM at the Morgan Hospital & Medical Center in Martinsville.

She was born on May 15, 1945 in Martinsville to the late Harry K. Coffman and Esther E. (Nail) Coffman.

Linda graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1963 and was a member of the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Martinsville. She was passionate about the outdoors and nature, and especially loved dogs and birds.

On August 31, 1963 she married Byron Leon "Pete" Coffey. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2004.

She is survived by her three sons, Eric L., Steve A. and Terry Leon Coffey all of Martinsville; one daughter, Michelle L. McFarland of Martinsville; one brother, Kenneth Lance Coffman of Martinsville; one sister, Rebecca A. Schrunk of Hendersville, TN; and nine grandchildren, Kayla, Bridget, Taylor, Caleb, Payton and Kyle Coffey, Brett Ferguson, Kenneth Schaeffer and Kiera McFarland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one infant brother, James F. Coffman.

Family and friends are encouraged to attend a visitation on Monday, April 12th, 2010 from 6-8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 13th from 10-11:00 AM at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Rev. Mark Abernathy will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 13th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
