NORFOLK-Mrs. Marie Englier Coffey, 69, of 352 El Paso Ave. died Thursday afternoon in Lake Taylor Hospital.

She was born in Bedford County Feb. 7, 1911, a daughter of O'Vandy Miles and Rose Anna Fitzgerald.

She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Baltimore, Md. and was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth C. Coffey of Lyndhurst; three daughters, Mrs. Billy G. (Eunice) Cox of Lyndhurst, Mrs. Brainard (Juanita) Coffey of Norfolk, and Mrs. Rosa Louise Anderson of Barstow, Calif.; three brothers, Evans A. Fitzgerald, Thurman L. Fitzgerald and Jesse W. Fitzgerald, all of Lyndhurst; 37 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Coffey was preceded in death by her husband, Holbert [sic] [Hobert] Lyle Coffey, in 1962, and by a brother, Dellie Fitzgerald.

A funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Owen, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald, Steve Fitzgerald, Bobby Fitzgerald, Preston Fitzgerald, Gene Fitzgerald and William Fitzgerald.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 tonight in the funeral home.

Kenneth Cyrus Coffey, 80, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence. Born on June 8, 1933, in Love, he was the son of the late Hobert L. and Marie E. (Fitzgerald) Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a veteran having served his country honorably with the U.S. Army. He last worked as an inspector for Wintergreen Resort and before that had previously been employed with NASA as a subcontractor. When time allowed, he enjoyed wood working. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Ronnie, Chad and Freddie Coffey;and sister, Louise Anderson. Survivors include his children, Donnie Coffey, Michael Coffey, Sharon Coffey, Mark Coffey, Bart Coffey, Kenneth Coffey Jr., Deneen Miller, Renee Eaton, Shawn Coffey, Tina Keeler, and Cindy Collins;sisters, Eunice Cox and Juanita Coffey;numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren;as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Mountain Top Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Doug Cox officiating. The family invites those in attendance for a time of food and fellowship following the service at Sand Springs Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Brad Coffey, Jarrett Coffey, William Cox, Ed Cox, Robert Coffey, Denny Meadows, Paul Gunick, and Robert Henderson.
