Mrs. W. E. Sitton Succumbs; Rites To Be Thursday

BREVARD - March 1. - Mrs. W. E. Sitton, 60, died at her home in the Little River section Tuesday. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 p. m. in Pleasant Grove church in Henderson County.

Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery, also in Henderson County.

A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Sitton was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Taylor and was a member of the Pleasant Grove church.

Survivors include the husband, William Edgar Sitton; seven sons and one daughter, Harry of Pisgah Forest, Coy, David and Charles of Pisgah Forest RFD 1, Paul of Brevard, Glen of Penrose, and Carol of Hendersonville RFD 4, and Mrs. Jessie Ashe of Hendersonville.

Nettie Lee Taylor and William Edgar Sitton were married. William Edgar Sitton was born on 21 April 1887 in Hendersonville, Henderson Co., NC. William died in Brevard, Transylvania Co., NC on 23 April 1969 and was buried at Oak Forest Cemetery in Etowah, Henderson Co., NC in April 1969 .23155

PENROSE - Services for William Edgar Sitton, 82, who died Wednesday, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, of which he was a member.

The Rev. B. Penley and the Rev. O. J. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Forest Cemetery in Etowah. Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edith Ashe of Penrose; seven sons, Harry and Coy both of Pisgah Forest, Paul of Brevard, Charles of Horse Shoe, David of Hendersonville, Glenn of Pickens, S. C. and Carroll Sitton of St. Helen, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Leo Moody of Horse Shoe; a brother, James Arthur Sitton of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The body has been taken to the home of Mrs. Edith Ashe in Penrose by Frank Moody funeral Home, Brevard, where it will remain until placed in the church for the services.
