ADA-Services for Arden L. Coffey, 87, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Coffey died Friday, September 19, 2008. He was born January 11, 1921 in the Lightning Ridge community to Henry Gilbert and Etter Fulfer Coffey. He lived in this area all his life and attended school at Lightning Ridge.

He married Ozell Jones on October 15, 1939. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1948.

He later married Amy Leola Evans on October 7, 1952 in the Latta community where they lived for over 50 years. Mr. Coffey was a farmer and he also worked for 7-Up Bottling Company. He later owned and operated a service station on West Main in Ada. Mr. Coffey was a member of Lightning Ridge Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Leola Coffey, of the home; two sons, Mitchael Dewayne Coffey and wife Helen, Oklahoma City, and Samuel Henry Evans and wife Diana, Shawnee; one daughter, Carolyn Coffey Minson and husband Walter, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Christopher Minson, Heather Coffey Knapton, Elaina Coffey Krilla, Doug Mitchael Coffey, Chandra Evans Storms, and Michael Brandon Evans; and 3 great grandchildren, Landon Mitchael Coffey, Aubrey Shae Knapton, and Alyssa Marie Knapton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, and two sisters.

Arden L. Coffey and Alice Ozell Jones were married on 15 October 1939 in Oklahoma. They lived with his parents in Midland Twp., Pontotoc Co., OK on 6 May 1940. Alice Ozell Jones was born on 10 December 1918 in Tennessee. Alice died on 28 March 1948 at the age of 29 in Roff, Pontotoc Co., OK and was buried at Lightning Ridge Cemetery in Roff, Pontotoc Co., OK.40896,40897

Arden L. Coffey and Amy Leola Myers were married on 7 October 1952 in Latta, Pontotoc Co., OK. Amy Leola Myers was born on 22 March 1919 in Ada, Pontotoc Co., OK. Amy died on 16 February 2009 at the age of 89 at Shawnee Nursing Home in Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co., OK and was buried at Lightning Ridge Cemetery in Roff, Pontotoc Co., OK.40898

ADA -- Services for Amy Leola Coffey, 89, Ada, are 2 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Coffey died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at a Shawnee nursing home. She was born March 22, 1919, in the Egypt Community, northwest of Ada to John Henry and Ora Vaden Myers.

She lived in Ada all her life and attended Egypt and Vanoss schools. She graduated from Latta High School.

Mrs. Coffey was employed at the box plant of Hazel Atlas Glass Company in Ada in the 1940s. She was also a homemaker and a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

She married Arden L. Coffey on Oct. 7, 1952, in Latta. He died Sept. 19, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel Henry Evans Coffey, Shawnee and M. Dewayne Coffey, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Minson, Hot Springs Village, Ark.; one sister, Ruby Gregory, Seminole; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Ken Coffey, Curtis Coffey, Jack Coffey, James Ray Coffey, Jerry Bob Coffey and Donnie Higginbotham.
