7249. Capt. Reuben Burton Coffey was born on 13 August 1883 in Carrollton, Carroll Co., MO. He served in the military on 5 December 1919 in San Diego, San Diego Co., CA.
On Feb. 19, 1919 Capt. Coffey was assigned to command the destroyer, USS Bush. In April, 1919 he was given command of the destroyer, USS McLanahan. In Dec., 1919 he was given command of the destroyer, USS Toucey.

On 23 March 1934 Capt. Coffey was reassigned from the US Naval War College at Newport, RI to commander of the USS Arkansas.²³⁶¹¹ Reuben died in Newport, Aquidneck Island, Newport Co., RI on 20 February 1959 and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Arlington Co., VA on 25 February 1959 .²³⁶¹²

Reuben Burton Coffey and Elinor Gertrude Scollay were married in 1914 in Pennsylvania.²³⁶¹³ They^²³⁶¹³ appeared in the census on 13 January 1920 in Montclair, Essex Co., NJ.²³⁶¹⁴ Elinor Gertrude Scollay was born in October 1888 in Pennsylvania. Elinor resided with her widowed mother in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA on 7 June 1900. Elinor resided with her widowed mother in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA on 15 April 1910. She appeared in the census on 10 April 1930 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA.²³⁶¹⁵ Elinor died in 1946 and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Arlington Co., VA in 1946 .²³⁶¹⁶
