BASIN — Freida Gayle Coffey McKinney, 71, of Basin, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in a Beckley hospital.

Born April 26, 1940 at McComas, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Ivory and Edith Leeomy (Hartwell) Coffey.

Freida was a beautiful, loving, and caring woman. She was a member of the Mullens Church of God, and she worked many years providing healthcare at Raleigh General Hospital and for Dr. Pitsenbarger. All those that knew her loved her, and she will be sadly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Ray McKinney; and two brothers, Jerry Coffey and an infant brother James Edward Coffey.

Those left to cherish her memory include five daughters, Debbie Stringfield, Tina Adams, Toni Ouimette, Kim Patterson, and Sheila Jordan; ten grandchildren, Tommy Stringfield, Heather Ouimette, Victoria Stringfield, Eric McKinney, Desirae Banks, Chris Todd Patterson, Michael Jordan, Brittany Patterson, Brooke Jordan, and Gracie Rae Jordan; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Carol McKinney, Linda Jolly, and Peggy Macintyre.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Mullens Church of God, Black Eagle Road in Mullens with the Reverend J.L. Riffe and the Reverend Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell McKinney Cemetery, Peaks Ridge, Basin.

Friends may call from today 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Her daughters will serve as pallbearers.
