Perry Cleveland Coffey, OSC, USN, RET, 78, of Roseland, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at his home. Born in Woodson, March 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Arnie Wilson Coffey and Nannie Fitzgerald Coffey.

Perry enlisted in the U.S. Navy March 1956. He served honorably until his retirement in March 1976 when he transitioned to the "hardest job in the navy," the military wife. He then followed Jan until she retired and they moved back to Tyro in May of 1991. He remained active by traveling, attending church, and maintaining "the farm."

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Jan Coffey; his kids, Michael P. Coffey (Celina), W. Randy Coffey, Denine S. Grogg (David), Terri L. Grogg (John Parker, Jr.), Robert D. Coffey (Annette), Brian D. Coffey (Gail Vest) and Jesse L. Coffey (Heather); his grandkids, Michael P. Coffey, Jr. (Elena), Miranda L. Rodriguez (Peter), Patrick Coffey (Samantha Mathieu), Tyler Grogg, Trace Grogg, Christopher Grogg, James Grogg (Brittany Young), Joseph Coffey (Emily Casler), Ryan Coffey, Jacob Coffey and Lucas Coffey; his great-grandkids, Bryce Rodriguez, Alexis Rodriguez, Graison Coffey (in the oven), Sophia Young and Kiely Coffey; and his furkids, Mina and Harley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dixie Lee Fitzgerald and his granddaughter, Mya Nicole Morris.

Perry loved God, country, family, motorcycle riding, hunting, cutting grass and bluegrass music. His motto "Life is all about the ride..."

A Celebration of his life will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 7539 Patrick Henry Hwy., Roseland, Va., on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Visitation will be held from 2 until 3 p.m. with services following. Wear your best motorcycle leathers or casual attire for non-riders.

The family requests donations be made to Almost Home Pet Adoption Center SPCA Lovingston Virginia or Virginia Special Olympics in Perry's Memory.

A living couple was married in 1976 in Great Falls, Fairfax Co., VA.30322 Living, daughter of Gordon P. Richardson and Doris M. Gruetzmacher, was born in 1948.
