Knickerbocker Rites Wednesday

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Evelyn Coffey Knickerbocker, 24, of 3430 Ranking, who drowned in a small private lake on Devonshire Drive, half a mile south of Northwest Highway Tuesday.

Mrs. Knickerbocker, wife of Dr. Bruce A. Knickerbocker, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Coffey, 410 North Mont Clair, who survive. She was graduated from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, former president of the alumnae group, former president of the College Club, national treasurer of the Mortar Board, honorary society, member of the Zeta Phi Delta and former president of Decima at SMU.

Services will be held at the George A. Brewer Funeral Home and burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The marriage of Miss Evelyn Mae Coffey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Coffey, and Dr. Bruce A. Knickerbocker, son of the Rev. and Mrs. H. D. Knickerbocker, took place Thursday evening at the Highland Park Methodist Church, with the father of the bridegroom officiating.

Funeral Set Thursday For Dr. Knickerbocker

Funeral services for Dr. Bruce A. Knickerbocker, 67, of 13316 Hughes Lane, chief of staff of the Freeman Memorial Clinic, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Restland Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.

Knickerbocker died here Tuesday.

Born in Temple, a Dallas resident for 47 years, he was a member of the executive board of the Children's Medical Center, past president of the Dallas Pediatric Society and past president of the Texas Pediatric Society. He was also a member of the Dallas Southern Clinical Society, The American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Association.

He had served on the Southern Methodist University Sustentation Fund annual drive and was the editor of the first SMU Alumni Bulletin in 1922.

He received his bachelor's degree from SMU and medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, Tenn. He was on the board of stewards of the Highland Park Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Northwood Club and a member of the Park Cities Rotary Club.

Survivors: wife; four daughters, Mrs. Sue Bailey, Mrs. W. Scott McDonald and Miss Kay Knickerbocker of Dallas and Mrs. W. O. Jones of Denton; two brothers, R. C. Knickerbocker of Dallas and Dr. K. L. Knickerbocker of Knoxville, Tenn., a sister, Mrs. David MacPherson of Wichita Falls and four grandchildren.
