Arthur died in Taylor Co., KY on 14 January 1944 of gangrene in both left and was buried at Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY on 16 January 1944 .^8492,8493 Obituary, The News-Journal, Thur., Jan. 20, 1944 Funeral services for Arthur Coffey, 76 years of age, were held Sunday from the home of his sister, Mrs. Ella Kerr with the Rev. Harvey Morrison, assisted by Rev. E. P. Gast in charge. Burial was in Brookside. Mr. Coffey died Friday morning after an extended illness. Mr. Coffey was a native of Kentucky but spent several years in Indiana. His wife died some 12 years ago and for several years he had made his home with his sister. Surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Ella Kerr and Mrs. B. J. Skaggs, city, and Mrs. Paul Sanders, Elizabethtown, and two brothers, Clarence Coffey of Greensburg and Russell Coffey, city. He also leaves two step-daughters in Indiana. The pallbearers were: L. B. Cox, Fred Graham, Cyrus Skaggs, Tommy Skaggs, Colby Cowherd and Cecil Snyder.

Chester Badgett and Dr. J. L. Robinson. Interment was in Brookside. Mr. Coffey, a salesman for many years in Campbellsville, died at the Metzmeier Nursing Home Wednesday, July 1st, at 1:20 a.m. He had been ill and confined to his bed for quite sometime. He was born in Taylor County November 25, 1890, son of the late Cyrus R. and Mary Lucy Page Coffey. Since early in life he has been a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He is survived by only one sister, Mrs. Ada (B.J.) Skaggs and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Lina Graham, Mrs. Louise Sanders, Mrs. Ella Kerr, Arthur and Clarence Coffey. Pallbearers were Carl McCubbin, W. S. Wade, Lawrence James, J. R. Hayes, Robinson Rice and Garnett Dowell.
