Edward Coffey

Edward Eugene "Chink" Coffey, 68, of Buf falo Cove Road, Lenoir, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care-Lenoir. He was born Feb. 17, 1948, in Caldwell County to the late Charles Lee and Ida Martha Barnett Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, C.L. Coffey, and one sister, Juanita Parks.

Mr. Coffey was a deacon and a faithful member of Yadkin Valley Baptist Church. He was known for his strong faith and the love for his family and friends. He was retired as a sander in the furniture industry.

Sur vivors include his wife, Mary Hodges Coffey of the home; one son, Steven Edward Coffey of Lenoir; seven brothers, Carroll Coffey and wife Wilma, Grant Coffey, Michael "Mitch" Coffey, Dennis Coffey and wife Sheila, Darrell Coffey and wife Dolly, Ray Coffey and wife Jessie, and Jonathan Jay Coffey and wife Rhonda; five sisters, Ruth Lowry, Sandra Young and husband Jerry, Billie Stalnaker and husband Bantz, Helen Coffey, and Lena Price; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Bobby Pritchard, the Rev. Bobby Greene, and the Rev. Gurney Robbins. Interment will immediately follow at the Buffalo Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. one hour prior to the ser vice at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Coffey, Kirk Coffey, Travis Coffey, Daniel Tester, Junior Morris and Casey Bowman.
