Ashe were married on 30 May 1909 in Cherokee Co., NC.¹⁶⁴⁶⁹ They^{¹⁶⁴⁶⁹} appeared in the census on 2 January 1920 in Cherokee Co., NC.¹⁶⁴⁷⁰ They^{¹⁶⁴⁷⁰} appeared in the census on 2 April 1930 in Valley Town Twp., Cherokee Co., NC.¹⁶⁴⁷¹ William and Lucy^{¹⁶⁴⁷¹} appeared in the census on 7 May 1940 on the the west fork of Bluff Road in Valley Town Twp., Cherokee Co., NC.¹⁶⁴⁷²

Although at least one of the children of William Edgar could be by his second wife Lula, I listed them all as children by first wife Lucy. The 1930 census indicates that Lula was born in GA, but all of the children were enumerated with mother born in NC. Lucy M. Ashe was born on 26 January 1894 in North Carolina. Lucy died in North Carolina on 10 April 1977 and was buried at Moss Cemetery in Marble, Valley Town Twp., Cherokee Co., NC in April 1977 .¹⁶⁴⁷³

Kenneth died at Erlanger Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, Cherokee Co., NC on 18 April 2018 and was buried at Moss Cemetery in Marble, Cherokee Co., NC on 20 April 2018 .¹⁶⁴⁸⁸ Kenneth Coffey, age 83, of Marble, NC passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Erlanger Murphy Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC to the late William Edgar and Lucy Ashe. Kenneth was a crew foreman for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was an avid reader and loved bible study. Kenneth enjoyed rabbit hunting. He loved his family, granddaughter and great-granddaugter. Kenneth was a member of Valleytown Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded death by his son, Roddie Coffey; brothers, Gain, Harold, Carl, Wade, James, Marvin, and Charles Coffey; and one sister, Ora Belle Coffey Anderson. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vernon Howard, John Coffey, Larry Crisp, Ben Crisp, Daniel Webster and Beau Webster. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm, Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Moss Cemetery Fund, PO Box 100, Marble, NC 28905. Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
