Albert Kent Woods Jr. of Willard Road, Winston-Salem, and Surf City died Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Forsyth County, a son of Albert Kent Woods Sr. and Addie Dinkins Woods. He attended Granville Elementary and Gray High School. Mr. Woods worked at Burlington and Kayser-Roth Hosiery for a number of years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Lucille Woods and Alma Radford. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth New Woods, of the home; a daughter, Sandra Woods, of Winston-Salem; two sons, Kent Woods and wife Fern of Kernersville and Terry Woods and wife Glenda of Pinnacle; three grandchildren, Lisa Woods and Dustin Woods, both of Pinnacle, and Sandra Smith and husband Gary of High Point; a great-grandson, Kendall Smith; and a sister, Louise Woods, of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Forsyth Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors provided by VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The Rev. Jerry Benfield will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. J.C.
